OUR PURPOSE 

Purpose

EJR club wants to provide a fun, supportive and safe environment for all Club members while developing junior rugby players, coaches, managers, referees and rugby administrators for the future and uplift the sport talent of the under-privileged community. We want to teach the following values – Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.

Vision
Being the Club of choice for all young rugby players in the Germiston and surrounding areas with ground and Club facilities, under our control, available for everyone in the area to enjoy. To be regarded as one of the best junior rugby clubs in the country.

Values
Our core values are important to us and are an integral part of our Club ethos. These have been fully embraced by the players, coaches, managers, referees, committee members and supporters themselves:

TEAMWORK - Teamwork is essential part of our sport. We welcome all new team members and include all because working as a team enriches our lives. We play unselfishly: working for the team, not for ourselves, both on and off the field. We take pride in our club & team, rely on one another and understand that each player has a part to play. We speak out if our team or sport is threatened by inappropriate words or actions.

RESPECT - Mutual respect forms the basis of our sport. We honor our sport, its values and traditions and earn the respect of others in the way we behave. We respect our match officials and accept their decisions. We respect opposition players and supporters. We value our coaches and those who run the club and treat our club facilities with consideration.

ENJOYMENT - Enjoyment is the reason we play and support Rugby. We encourage players to enjoy training and playing. We safeguard our young players and help them have fun. We enjoy being part of Eagles Junior rugby club our team and being part of a Rugby family.

DISCIPLINE - Discipline forms the basis of our sport. We ensure that we play each game honestly and fair. We obey the laws of the game which ensure an inclusive and exciting sport. We support our disciplinary system, which protects our sport and upholds its values.

SPORTSMANSHIP - Sportsmanship is the foundation upon which Rugby is built. We uphold the Rugby tradition of friendship with teammates and opposition. We observe fair play both on and off the field and are generous in victory and dignified in defeat. We play to win but not at all costs and recognize both endeavor and achievement. We ensure that the well being and development of individual players is central to all Rugby activity.
